Every day from June 24th to September 4th we offer a group hike led by a professional guide. We’ll provide transportation, a professional driver and interpretive guide with commentary and local stories as they whisk you away to your hiking adventure. We’ll bring everything you need including a packed lunch from Bare Bistro.

The ability level and terrain differ each day so there is something for everyone:

Wednesday – Stanley Glacier – Moderate

Known as “Fire and Ice,” this hike takes switchbacks through remnants of a wildfire overgrown by fresh new wildflowers. You’ll cross a bubbling glacial stream as you walk beneath Mt Stanley, Mt Whymper, Boom Mountain and arrive at the toe of Stanley Glacier.

Hiking time: Approximately 3-4 hours. Distance: 10km return.  Elevation gain: 365m

Adult: $95 plus 5% GST

Includes

Professional hiking guide, transportation from Banff, packed lunch & beverage, hiking poles, use of binocculars.  

Trip Duration

Each hike varies in length and time according to the fitness level of the group. Please allow 6-8 hours for the duration of your hike from pickup to drop off.

Difficulty Level

Variable each day from moderate to difficult.

Not suitable for children under 12 years old; children 8-12 years of age are permitted on easy hikes only.

What to Bring:

Dress appropriate for the day's weather. Temperatures in alpine can be colder than the town of Banff; dress in layers and bring a waterproof jacket, sunscreen, and your camera.
